Fraunhofer MEVIS co-chairs the Live Demonstrations Workshop as part of the 2018 SPIE Medical Imaging Conference held February 10–15 in Houston/Texas.

At this year‘s SPIE Medical Imaging Conference, Fraunhofer MEVIS director Horst Hahn chairs together with Lubomir Hadjiiski from University of Michigan the Live Demonstrations Workshop held on Tuesday, February 13, from 5:00–7:00 pm.

The Live Demonstrations Workshop invites participation from all of the conferences under the umbrella of the SPIE Medical Imaging. Demonstrations from CAD, Digital Pathology, Image Processing, Imaging Informatics, Image Perception, Physics, and all other conferences are strongly encouraged. These include samples, algorithms, and software systems that depict the implementation, operation, and utility of cutting-edge as well as mature research.

Since 2009, the SPIE Medical Imaging conference is hosting an evening workshop featuring live demonstrations that are complementary to the topics of SPIE Medical Imaging. The goal of this annual workshop is to provide a forum for system and algorithm developers to show off their creations. The intent is for the audience to be inspired to conduct derivative research, for the demos to receive feedback and find new collaborators, and for all to learn about the rapidly evolving field of medical imaging.

Participation is not bound to a paper or poster presented at the conference – also independent live demonstrations by all SPIE participants are highly welcome. To submit your live demo, it suffices to send an email including a short description before January 17 to the organizers. Details are found at the link provided below.
