30 Years MEVIS – Open House

The Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Medicine MEVIS is celebrating its 30th anniversary.

To mark the occasion, Fraunhofer MEVIS is opening its doors and warmly inviting all interested guests to its Open House.

Take this opportunity to get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at innovative medical research and engage in conversation with our scientists. Discover how future technologies are already helping to improve healthcare today.

Founded in August 1995 as an independent institute of the state of Bremen, Fraunhofer MEVIS has established itself as one of the world's leading research centers in the field of computer-assisted health care. As such, it is dedicated to the development of clinically effective solutions at the interface of AI, imaging, and medical intervention.

No registration is required. The event is free of charge.

Dive into the medicine of tomorrow! In four exciting thematic areas, discover how AI, advanced imaging, and digital solutions are already helping to detect diseases earlier, improve therapies, and put people at the center of healthcare.

How We See Inside – A glimpse beneath the surface

Modern imaging is the window into the human body. Here you can find out how innovative procedures help medical researchers to detect diseases early and accurately - often before symptoms even appear.

See how the invisible can become visible.

Detecting the Undetectable – What the eye misses, the AI recognizes

Artificial intelligence is changing medicine. Find out how smart algorithms are helping doctors to diagnose faster and more accurately - for example in the case of cancer or other complex diseases.

Discover how AI can help save lives.

You at the Center – Medicine that focuses on people

Digital technologies are making medicine more personal. Whether it's customized operations, smart support in everyday life or new ways of communicating: here you can experience how people - with their individual needs - are the focus of attention.

Find out how modern medicine not only treats patients, but accompanies them.

Building Tomorrow’s Solutions – Research for a healthy tomorrow

Research is the engine of tomorrow's medicine. Here we show how artificial intelligence in research is helping to develop therapies faster and make better use of knowledge.

Take a look behind the scenes of medical research.

Next Generation of Researchers – Today’s School for Tomorrow’s Healthcare

Additionally, we are happy to present the new Upper Secondary Specialisation “Digital Medicine”.

In the new upper secondary specialisation “Digital Medicine” school students explore how medical imaging, AI, and digital tools are already shaping healthcare today and will impact the medicine of tomorrow. The program is developed by Fraunhofer MEVIS and Oberschule am Waller Ring, Bremen.
