The Board of Governors of the private Jacobs University in Bremen-Grohn elected the Director of Fraunhofer MEVIS, Prof. Heinz-Otto Peitgen, to be the university's new President.

Peitgen will be taking over as President of Jacobs University on January 1, 2013. He will succeed Prof. Joachim Treusch, who has served as President since July 1, 2006.

The appointment process concerning the succession in the management board of Fraunhofer MEVIS is under way.
