Christian Hansen awarded for Best Paper at CARS 2012
Christian Hansen, scientific researcher at Fraunhofer MEVIS in Bremen, was awarded with the NDI Best Student Paper Award at the 26th International Congress on Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (CARS 2012) held on June 27 – 30, 2012 in Pisa, Italy.
He received the award together with his co-authors S. Zidowitz, F. Ritter, C. Lange, H.K. Hahn (Fraunhofer MEVIS) and K.J. Oldhafer (Asklepios Clinic Hamburg-Barmbek) for the paper “Risk maps for liver surgery”. The paper was chosen out of about 150 submissions.
Founded in 1985, CARS has played a leading role in medical informatics for more than 25 years by focusing on research and development for computer assisted systems and their applications in radiology and surgery. The international participation in CARS is highly significant, since the approximately 1000 – 1200 participants of CARS meetings typically come from over 45 countries.
