Fraunhofer MEVIS at kick-off event for Science Year 2014
Fraunhofer MEVIS presented current work on neurosurgical planning at kick-off event for the Science Year 2014 in Berlin. Many visitors, among others, German Federal Minister of Research Prof. Johanna Wanka and the President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Prof. Reimund Neugebauer, could interactively explore at an exhibit the anatomy, important functional areas and nerve fiber connections in the human brain.
The Science Year 2014, this year under the motto “The Digital Society”, started with a ceremonial kick-off event in the Berlin Museum for Communication on February 19. German Federal Minister of Research Prof. Johanna Wanka welcomed the participants from research, politics and society.
At the event, Fraunhofer MEVIS showed current work on neurosurgical planning. Many visitors, among others, Prof. Wanka and the President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Prof. Reimund Neugebauer, could interactively explore at an exhibit the anatomy, important functional areas and nerve fiber connections in the human brain, and then plan on a tablet PC a neurosurgical operation themselves.
