On Friday, August 25, a Disability Awareness Workshop took place at Fraunhofer MEVIS in Bremen. The half-day workshop was designed and led by a dedicated team from Inklupreneur, a Berlin and Bremen based initiative whose mission is to promote inclusion in the workplace and to actively support companies in doing so.
People with different forms of disabilities shared their experiences and, against the backdrop of their own story, gave advice on how to create an open community without fear of contact. Together, we deepened our understanding of the most important aspects of inclusive work and made them tangible for Fraunhofer MEVIS. Central to this was the personal exchange between the participants about the still existing hurdles in our society. In small group work, the team of Inklupreneur and the employees of Fraunhofer MEVIS engaged in enriching discussions. The Disability Awareness Workshop was met with great response and enthusiasm from the approximately 40 participants from Fraunhofer MEVIS on site and via video conference.
Diversity is an important part of Fraunhofer MEVIS' corporate culture. As a signee of the Inklupreneur pledge, Fraunhofer MEVIS has committed to taking social responsibility and becoming a more inclusive company. We thank the Inklupreneur team for the inspiring morning and look forward to our continued cooperation.
