Mensch und Computer 2024

Hybrid Worlds

Founded in 2001, the conference series “Mensch und Computer” (Human and Computer) is the largest conference series on human-computer interaction in Europe. The “Mensch und Computer” conference (MuC) offers participants from science and industry a platform for contributions and discussions on innovative forms of interaction between humans and digital technology, human-centered development methods, interactive applications and other topics between users, teams and communities on the one hand and the information and communication technologies used on the other. The aim of the conference is to discuss innovative research results, to promote the exchange of information between science and practice, to stimulate research activities and training and to sensitize science, practice and the public to the relevance of this field.

This year Fraunhofer MEVIS will be represented with the following contribution:

Workshop Co Organisation

Henrik Detjen

Workshop MCI-WS10: "Collaborative editing of documents by differently abled users – Sustainable solutions for practice"

(Organizers: Anastasiya Zakreuskaya, Tobias Münch, Henrik Detjen, Sven Mayer8, Passant Elagroudy, Bastian Pleging, Fiona Draxler, Benjamin Weyers, Uwe Gruenefeld, Jonas Auda, Waldemar Titov, Wendy E. Mackay, Daniel Buschek, Thomas Kosch)

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) established itself in science and industry through accessible implementations such as ChatGPT and Stable Diffusion. Subsequently, GenAI changed the interaction paradigms between users and computers. In the future, this will change the way researchers design and create novel interactive interfaces by combining machine efficiency with human flexibility. In this workshop, the potential of GenAI for human-computer interaction (HCI) will be explored and discussed with the research community through position papers, research statements and opinions. This workshop will facilitate a shared understanding of GenAI in relation to HCI and will lead to a research agenda to be pursued by the research community.
