Fraunhofer MEVIS is partner in Bremen’s first Leibniz ScienceCampus on digital public health. The new research network will further strengthen the cooperation between the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology - BIPS, the University of Bremen and Fraunhofer MEVIS, which is already part of the scientific priority area of health sciences in Bremen.

Among other things, the new Leibniz ScienceCampus “Digital Public Health” will address the question of how digital technologies can be integrated effectively, fairly, and in accordance with the principles of human dignity into prevention, health promotion, and other public health tasks.

Another issue is the responsible use of deep pattern recognition procedures in health care. Fraunhofer MEVIS will primarily work on concepts to make machine learning comprehensible and to create tools that meet human needs. The transdisciplinary science campus offers an outstanding prerequisite for this.
