The European Society of Radiology (ESR) in cooperation with the European Institute for Biomedical Imaging Research (EIBIR) invites applications for the Pixel Pandemonium at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) 2025. ECR 2025 will be taking place in Vienna, Austria, from February 26 – March 2, 2025.

The purpose of this new format is to provide a platform to showcase up-and-coming AI and ML tools for medical imaging to a large audience of end users at an early stage for valuable hands-on experiences and feedback.

Pixel Pandemonium is looking for demos of exciting AI/ML technology in the medical imaging sphere. The organizers of the event want to see what is ‘hot’ in the kitchen, what is cool and new, and what might generate clinical impact in the next couple of years! They would like to see cutting-edge ML ranging from methods that have not yet found an application in radiology to those that address a clear problem. Demos for the exhibition can include software, robots, or combinations of software and hardware technology.

Submissions are invited from both academia and industry. Demos should show cutting edge technology. They must not show any products, or product features. Selected applications will receive a free registration for ECR 2025.

Objectives:       

• Connect the AI/ML and radiology communities
• Show cutting-edge demos of novel Al/imaging technology that is „cooking in the kitchen” (academic, industrial) – not yet a product but already with impressive results
• Promote interaction bringing the Al research community closer to clinical applications
• Foster joint research and a path to utility in radiology for AI/ML
