MedVis Award for Fraunhofer MEVIS researcher Frank Heckel
Fraunhofer MEVIS researcher Frank Heckel was awarded with the 2nd place of the MedVis Award 2014 for his work on interactive editing of automatically generated tumor segmentations in CT data for chemo therapy monitoring.
The award was handed over at the Eurographics Workshop on Visual Computing for Biology and Medicine (EG VCBM) held from September 3 to 5 in Vienna, Austria. On September 3, Frank Heckel gave a talk about his work during the meeting of the Working Group of Visual Computing in Biology and Medicine (VCBM), a subdivision of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.G. (GI).
Since 2004, the Karl-Heinz Höhne MedVis Award for Medical Visualization is awarded every two years by the VCBM group in cooperation with Brainlab, GI and CURAC for innovative work that focuses on visualization and is clearly related to medical questions.
